This makes “77 Slightly Delayed” by Will Simmons the first single to be taken from AHTung! – Almost Halloween Time Records’ attempt to define what is kraut and what is not.
Will built the plane himself, he shot the video, he made the music.
“77 Slightly Delayed” is the name of a song/piece written and performed by Ashra/Manuel Göttsching. That song appeared on Ashra’s album “Blackouts” (Virgin Records, 1978).
Here’s Will about the song: “This version takes Ashra for inspiration, mood, and a song title, but almost nothing in actual guitar lines. I got excited about recording a piece with only one guitar by a guy who made a solo album with (mostly) multitracked guitar–we even both play on (knock-off) SGs. I don’t know if that makes mine a cover song or an homage or what, but it would be negligent to not mention the obvious connection.”
