For the mini-series I’m making for “No Need To Beg” by Phil Yates & The Affiliates I reproduce masterpieces by great artists modifying some details.
This one here was painted on request 7 years ago. It reproduces a painting by August Macke, a painter of scenes of everyday life, often portraying moments of celebration, carefreeness or contemplation. In his paintings he captures the beauty of everyday life, conveying a sense of optimism and well-being.
There is a song on “No Need To Beg” in which the protagonist would like to become a painting to impress an art teacher and I take the opportunity to draw mustaches and beards on masterpieces in an attempt to “yatesize” whoever had been portrayed by the great masters.
Choose your favorite artist, I will try to paint in his style.
