Open Space

I was in an Open Space for a night and inevitably I thought about Marc Augè and his definition of place.
“For me, place has never been an empirical notion. Anything can become a place, every space can be one, if in one manner or another encounters take place there that create social ties. A space can be either a place or a non-place, or a place for some and not for others.”

The open space I stayed in was definitely a place where relationships and social ties were built. The open space I was in is a fairly small room in which there are microphones, speakers, computers and electronic equipment.
An open space where Nicola welcomed me and a place where I quickly felt at home.
Nicola and I played some of our favorite records and I absolutely loved the experience.
