What’s behind the covers I’m painting for “Disintegration” by Mus 🔥 Wio?
I’ll let Wio explain it to you:
“Here’s how I made them, I tried a few approaches. One system (Stable Diffusion) allows for training on an image data set. I fed a variety of about 20 of Luigi paintings to the AI and told it this is the ‘Luigi Falagario style’. Then I asked it to create abstract ‘Luigi Style’ paintings based on the cover artwork (front and back) of the Disintegration album.
I also experimented with Midjourney, another AI image generator. They recently released the possibility to ‘blend’ images, mixing styles of both images you feed it. I combined an abstract painting by Luigi’s hand with both the front and back cover artwork. I generally liked that output a lot more colorwise and composition wise. They didn’t feel really ‘Luigi’ though. By feeding those back into Stable Diffusion and ‘Luigi-fying’ them, the hand of the Master becomes visible again.”
Wio sent me a set of these covers and I reproduce parts of them.
